The 2022 Swiss Summer School in Democracy Studies will focus on Advances in Comparative Democracy Research and will take place in person in Zurich from 12-16 September 2022.

This year's program will deal with recent theoretical and methodological advances in the comparative study of democracy, including political institutions, democratic representation, election campaigns, gender and politics, and social media as a novel source to study democratic politics.

The Doctoral Programme Democracy Studies<http://www.ipz.uzh.ch/en/democracystudies> at the University of Zurich is pleased to announce the Call for Applications for the 8th Swiss Summer School in Democracy Studies<https://www.ipz.uzh.ch/en/studium/phd/democracy-studies/summer-school/2022-Zurich.html>. The 2022 school will focus on Advances in Comparative Democracy Research and will take place in person in Zurich from 12-16 September 2022.




Every year, young scholars from all over the world with a common research interest in the topic of democracy meet in Switzerland to:

  *   gain theoretical, empirical, and methodological know-how on advances in the comparative study of democracy
  *   discuss their own research and receive feedback on their work from both international experts and peers in their field of research
  *   meet and exchange with international experts and scholars working on similar topics during networking sessions and social events

The Summer School is open to doctoral students and advanced master's students worldwide from the social sciences and related disciplines. The school is limited to 20participants and 2 ECTS and a certificate are awarded for participation in the full academic programme. Participation is subject to a fee, reduced or no fees can apply. Grants are available through a separate application process from June 1st, 2022.

The deadline for submission is Wednesday, June 1st, 2022.
